Lavender Lemonade Recipe
There’s nothing quite like sitting on the porch or balcony with a tall glass of old-fashioned lemonade, but if you’re in the mood for a French-inspired version of the traditional drink, try our Lavender Lemonade recipe. Sweet and tangy with just-right notes of lavender, this homemade lemonade hits the spot with its refreshing taste, herbal infusion, and hits of vitamin C. It’s Provence captured in a cold glass, and it’s perfect for summer!
Step 1: Add 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 ½ tablespoons of culinary lavender to a saucepan and set over medium heat. Stirring occasionally, let the mixture come up to a gentle simmer. Once all of the sugar has been dissolved, remove from heat and allow the lavender to steep for 15 minutes, with the lid on.
Step 2: Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve and set aside.
Step 3: Using a lemon squeezer, squeeze enough lemons to make one cup of lemon juice.
Step 4: In a large pitcher, add the lemon juice, 4 cups of water, and 1 cup of lavender simply syrup, plus 2 tablespoons (to add in later until you reach your desired sweetness). Stir to combine. Taste the lemonade and add more simple syrup if a sweeter drink is preferred. Place the lemonade in the refrigerator and serve once chilled.
