Amazon.com Review Based on a Chinese legend of two star-crossed lovers, the Chelsea Blue Willow pattern from Churchill China is enchanting to behold. Fantastical trees and uniquely depicted buildings portrayed in dark blue tones draw ones attention to this distinctive portrait. A feeling of romance abounds and is captured by the two doves that soar above the landscape. Representing the two fugitive lovers, they create a focal point to the panorama. The lid complements the body of the tea pot and is adorned with an intricate pattern involving floral patterns, geometric shapes and a latticework edge. The graceful curve of the handle enables ones thumb to gently rest while pouring tea and a distinctive sculptural definition covers the bowl of the tea pot adding a unique depth to the romantic scene. Measuring 9-1/2 inches from spout to handle, 6 inches wide, and 7 inches tall, this tea pot is suited to accompany other dinnerware, accessories, and serving pieces in the Chelsea Blue Willow line. With a 32-ounce capacity, enough tea can be brewed and enjoyed by one person or a group of four. Experts recommend warming all tea pots with hot water before brewing the tea in order to ensure an enhanced flavor. Churchill China tea pots are constructed from high-fired earthenware and have chip-resistant glossy glaze over the transfer-print pattern. Designed to stand up to frequent use, the tea pot can safely be placed in the microwave or dishwasher. --Lea Werbel

Successful Gift-giving October 4, 2008 Churchill China Chelsea Blue Willow Tea Pot My sister had helped me tremendously and I wanted to gift her a very special tea pot. The Churchill China Chelsea Blue Willow Tea Pot pleased her so much and is beautiful as well as functional. She has displayed it prominently in her China hutch. All I have to say is, if you need a gift but your budget is small, Amazon will have something that is perfect for your gift-giving.
wobble wobble June 9, 2008 The pot I got is very wobbly. The bottom is not flat and moves a quarter inch from side to side. HOW DID THIS PASS QUALITY INSPECTION?
Made in Columbia and NOT the one on the stock photo. The user photo is accurate.
Nice teapot, photo a bit misleading April 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For all who want a teapot that is made in England...this is not it. In fact, Churchill products, with a few exceptions, have not been made in England for a while. Regardless, this teapot is well made. I like the "bones" of the teapot, the sculptured shape, the handle and lid design, etc. Actually, some of the older "made in England" types have a rather clunky shape in comparison, IMO. It is well made and sturdy. A practical item as well as a decorative one. You won't feel badly using this for fear of breaking one of the "last" England produced pots...these are still in production and can always be replaced!
One disappointment to me was the design imprinted on the pot. Someone casually mentioned this in another review, but just to repeat: The design does not go up to the top, as illustrated here. Rather, the design is actually different and stops almost an inch below the top rim. The other reviewer did not see this as a problem and I didn't think it would alter the appearance much, but to me it makes the white background stand out more and does not *quite* blend with my other Blue Willow items. A small thing, but worth mentioning, I think, especially if others are picky like me. Somehow this little quirk makes the design look more decal-like. But, it is still a good looking teapot...just would look much, MUCH better with the design extending to the top. I have submitted a photo to illustrate this. The teapot is reversed, but the image is the same on both sides.
Other than this, I really like the pot. I must give it 4 stars only, however, because of the deceptive illustration.
Classic Teapot February 9, 2008 This tea pot is a tea lover's must have. A true classic and this sellor ships quickly. I got mine in less than 3 days in the mail.
Beautiful and perfect January 16, 2008 Beautiful -- pattern is sharp, consistent in color. Perfect construction -- no gaps in glaze, especially where you might expect these gaps, such as where spout and handle are attached to body of teapot. Size is substantial for a teapot -- 6 inches in diameter, 5-1/2 inches from bottom to rim, 6-1/2 inches from bottom to top of lid.
Exactly as pictured, except for one conditions which does NOT detract from beauty or value: pattern ends about 1/2 inch from top of pot, NOT at top of pot, as pictured. However, pattern is complete and in proportion, so it does not abruptly end.
This is now the centerpiece of my Blue Willow collection. I will use it every day, for coffee as well as for tea. If you are a fan of Blue Willow, this is one item that you must have in your collection.
