Another brass hinge holds the lid up while youre looking for something in the generously sized storage space. Divided in two, one side measures 2-3/8 wide x 11-1/4 long and 1-1/2 deep. Its just the perfect size for your favorite pens, pencils, erasers and other small items. The second side is much larger at 12-1/8 wide x 11-1/4 long and 1-1/2 deep and will hold your notebooks, calculator, envelopes, and even small books. Both internal sections are lined in protective green felt. Underneath the lap desk is a non-removable foam bead filled pillow, providing solid support for your lap desk and comfort for your lap. The best present I got for Christmas January 5, 2008

I got jewerly and electronics for Christmas but this was honestly my favorite gift this year. I am a returning college student and this has helped me so much from writing my assignments to using to balance my laptop or storing my writing utensils and paper. I got it in the mail as a gift from a family member that lives in another state, and it was packaged well and arrived right on time from when my family member told me to expect it. I would definitely suggest this lap desk to others.

I wanted something to use on my bed or on my lap, given I cover my desk with computer monitors or file trays. Serves purpose. I can store commonly used files inside the desk. Nice to have slot for pens. But cushion on bottom is a bit of overkill for me. I would be satisfied if I just had a nice writing surface without filled cushions on bottom that make it a little unstable on a hard surface.
