Husband loves this clock December 26, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've been looking for a replacement for our old talking alarm clock, and finally a new product that bests it by far. Most older products have less-than optimal design and you must know what buttons to press in order to get them set properly. This one requires only that you remember a few common-sense commands.
Any talking clock would wake up a sleeper in the same room. The volume is high and hopefully the manufacturer will provide adjustable volumes on each of the sounds, alarm, sleep, etc., in the future.
My husband loves this clock, it is simple to operate and fairly sensitive. He has a deep voice and can talk to it from at least 10-15 feet away and it responds well. We put ours in the kitchen on top of the fridge for now, and the nightlight will help him to navigate a bit when his vision is particularly bad.
We will be buying at least one more clock for a second location in our home, and possibly another for a vacation trailer.
The company web site has an interactive example of how the clock works if you are unsure if it will work for you. Their website is not optimal for the visually impaired, however.

No not perfect but 100x better than conventional clocks. December 24, 2008 If you expect this thing to be perfect and recognize every command even when the TV is blaring then you will be disappointed.
Having said that.. I change the alarm time frequently and this thing is SOOOOOO much easier to use than a conventional digital clock where you have to click so many times to get to your target alarm time.
"Set Alarm - 6:15 AM " Most times its that easy and at most I only have to repeat once if it did not understand.
I actually think the night light is very soothing also and being able to ask it the temperature is an added plus.
Good idea not fully thought out December 5, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I returned the clock because it was more aggravating than anything. The idea is appealing, and might be great, but this version really stinks (not to put too fine a point on it!).
1. I did figure out how to get the sleep sounds to work, although they are pretty awful, and the volume can't be adjusted. Not only that, but they last just 5 minutes, the point of which I fail to understand. I went back to my 60-minute ocean CD, which is much better.
2. The volume of the voice prompts is loud and can't be changed; how did they expect someone to check the time in the dark of night without waking the other person in the bed?
3. The nightlight cycles thru the 6 colors, and some are too bright. The red one would be great, but you can't select a single color.
4. To set the alarm, you have to listen to the explanation EVERY time; why is that? The voice prompts should all be short, and I shouldn't have to reset the alarm time every day. I should be able to use the same alarm time every day.
5. Without using the too-bright nightlight feature, how am I supposed to tell the time at night? If I speak to it, I risk waking the person next to me; if I touch the clock, I get the overly-loud voice prompt. Neither is a good solution, so it's useless in the dark.
A great idea, but a pretty useless first version. I give this 1 out of 5 stars.
Voice Activated Bliss December 4, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Voice Activated Moshi Alarm Clock is the best holiday gift for any gadget lover or elder person with vision impairments! I ordered a couple of them to give to my elderly relatives who have difficulty seeing the time and often forget which day of the week they are in. I tried it out myself and being a female- these voice activated products always have a hard time with my higher pitched voice but the Voice Interactive Moshi Alarm Clock had no problems. It's nice to have purchased a product without feeling buyers remorse.
