 SPI Lapdesk with Light January 8, 2009
Lap desk was shipped very quickly. The quality is good and comfortable to use. Much nicer without my laptop heating up my legs now. Lght takes four C batteries. Haven't used that yet.
 Laptop desk January 6, 2009
Not as usfull as I thought it would be. Light is not very bright and with a 17 in wide monitor the goose neck becomes a problem. Also not very comfortable when on lap.
Light did not work January 4, 2009
My daughter received this item, and was very happy with it until we tried to turn on the light. The light did not work. Since the item was a gift we did not have the receipt. After replacing the light bulb (which was broken) the light still did not work. After taking the desk apart, and playing with the electronics (wrench, exacto knife, ohm-meter) I determined that one lead was soldered to the wooden board (about 1/4th of an inch from the switch contact).
I concluded that the desk could not have ever worked (since wood does not conduct electricity). So only buy this product if you want a desk from a company that doesn't check to see if the product works.
Almost perfect December 28, 2008
This is a great size is sturdy and comfy; however, the manufacturer missed a golden opportunity to make this even better by allowing the light to be USB-powered. I'm guessing most of these will be purchased for laptop use, so USB power would be ideal.
Works as intended December 19, 2008
The surface is large enough for my 17" gaming laptop so that I can play games from the comfort of my recliner in the media room. I wish there was a way to remove the light without damaging it though - there are times that I would like to have that extra small bit of desk space. Otherwise, great product!
