Great Medication Timer/Pill Box December 4, 2008
I love this gadget!! I've been looking and looking for a method of making sure that I take my medication on time without disturbing people around me, and the Vibrating 5 Alarm Pill Box from ILA is it! It's easy to set up, easy to use, versatile and compact. It has 5 alarms and 5 pill compartments, each of which is fairly large, yet the whole unit is about 3" in diameter, and a little over an inch deep. The alarm can be set to vibrate, beep or both. The real beauty of it is that in order to stop the alarm, you actually have to open the pill container. This is great for me, because it means that I will remember to actually take the pill, not just shut off the alarm. The vibration alarm is very effective; it really gets your attention, but doesn't disturb others as much as an audible alarm, which makes it perfect for when I'm in a meeting. Also, if you go ahead and take your medicine within 15 minutes of the alarm going off, that particular alarm is shut off. To top it all off, the thing is not even expensive!
I only have one quibble with it; while you can lock the buttons out so that you don't accidentally change the settings, there is nothing to prevent the little slider switch on the side which selects what type of alarm you want from moving. That's a small thing, though, compared to all the positives about this gadget. I heartily recommend the Vibrating 5 Alarm Pill Box from ILA to anyone who takes medications regularly and needs a little help remembering to do so!

This is the most cumbersome timer I have ever used. Its programming is very tedious, the mechanism unyielding and the overall design is simply strange.
I do not recommend it for anyone who has arthritic or disabled hands.
I especially do not recommend it for anyone who needs to EVER change the time-slots for alternate medicines. It does, however, make an okay paperweight if you don't mind wasting two AAA batteries.
The latter earns it the single star rating. Otherwise, I would give it a flat zero.

I am a transplant patient for life. I work full time and am very healthy. But pills are a way of life now. No problem with this little device. I just love the size of it, the fact that the pills are in it, and especially how you can set the alarm to go off at the same time every day. My last reminder could only be set to go off 23:59 since the last time it went off, so every 4 or 5 days I had to reset it. But the price is great and so is this product. Transplant clinics give you lots of little goodies. They should add this product!!!

I love This item I am hard on them but they keep on working, don't fall in a pool they will not work after that this product saves my life I am a transplant patient on alot of pills and I have a bad memory this product does not let me forget them this product is a part of my life mayo clinic should give these out to all transplant patients.
